Fishing at Cougar Creek on Vancouver Island BC Canada

So had an invite to go fishing for salmon off the coast of Vancouver Island at a place called Cougar Creek.

Are you kidding me,,, I'm in.

So where is Cougar Creek anyway?

Cougar Creek Campground is located approximately 40 km northwest of Gold River along a dirt road with no cell service, totally unplugged, nothing up here, not even running water.

one would be wise to have a spare tire or 2 just in case. the road is driveable at speeds of 30 to 40 km, faster than that take your chances on breaking something on your vehicle or trailer.

on the up side there some breathtaking views along the way.

it's been very, very hot and dry so campfires are banned.

Due to it's remote location, you mostly find the die-hard fishermen here.
