Storm watching has always been an exciting time for me.

Hearing the wind howl, seeing the waves crashing onshore. the occasional Grey whale passing nearby.

Suit up in your storm gear and watch the winter waves crash on the rocky shoreline, or enjoy a stroll along a sandy beach.

Practice Safe Storm Watching!

We recommend these simple tips.

Wear Sturdy gumboots, a waterproof jacket and even rain pants will do the trick. Check the tide. It can rise fast, going right up to the foreshore. Water has an incredible force, this is how those giant pieces of driftwood end up strewn across the beach. And those logs outweigh you! Avoid standing on tidal rocks. we recommend staying well inland, beyond the reach of even the biggest rogue waves.
